CLIMATEGATE A SYMPTOM OF MODERN "SCIENCE"

The “Climategate” e-mail scandal should go a long way toward debunking one of the great hoaxes of our time, anthropogenic (man-made) global warming.  An even greater outcome, though, would be the shattering of the idea that modern science is the unbiased pursuit of truth based purely upon the accumulated data, free from any political considerations, religious attitudes or other factors.

After all, when scientists at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) — the world’s leading anthropogenic global-warming center — couldn’t find actual evidence to support their global warming theories, they did what any rational, scholarly, opinion-neutral scientists would do.  They cooked the books.

Hacked CRU e-mails and documents reveal that these empirical scientists, whose work on global temperatures is relied upon by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), have been assiduously suppressing and misstating data.  They have been working to prevent the publication of conflicting views in peer-reviewed science periodicals.  In one of the e-mails, they vowed that they would keep such evidence out of a future IPCC report on the subject “even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”

In other words, they have been going to any and all lengths to prevent the truth from getting out.   Which unfortunately is nothing new when it comes to modern science.

Just a few decades ago, scientists believed that the universe always existed.  This was a quite convenient belief, since so many of them denied the existence of God.  It allowed them to dismiss the Genesis account of there being a “beginning” in which “God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1).  There was no creation, they lectured us, because there never was a beginning.  Science, they said, had proven the Bible to be wrong.  

Yet when his own equations of general relativity proved that the universe was expanding, and therefore did indeed have a beginning, Albert Einstein said he was “irritated” by this discovery.  He was so irritated, in fact, that he did something a first-grade math student is taught never to do — he divided by zero.  This allowed him to concoct a supposed “cosmological constant” out of thin air to “disprove” the fact of an expanding universe.  Years later, however, in the face of incontrovertible evidence, he withdrew his “cosmological constant” and called it the greatest mistake of his life.

Then the scientific community simply came up with the Big Bang Theory to account for a beginning, without bothering to explain how a random, unguided explosion resulted in an entire universe characterized by extraordinary beauty, synchronized order and mind-boggling complexity right down to the DNA level.

In response to the obvious difficulties of trying to justify this theory scientifically, leading atheist and evolutionist Richard Dawkins admitted that it was an inexplicable concept that he would “have to be mad” to try to elucidate.  So he didn’t bother explaining it (much less offering any evidence), and neither did any of his atheistic colleagues, which means we once again have to take their word for it. 

And, of course, we’ve seen the same disingenuousness in the debate over origins, as a wealth of scientific evidence has come forth in recent years showing the impossibility of evolution.  In his seminal book “Darwin’s Black Box,” Dr. Michael Behe demonstrated how life is comprised of systems which, like a mousetrap, cannot function unless all of the different parts of those systems are in operation from the start.  Thus, the Darwinian idea of small, successive evolutionary advances over time is simply wrong.

Moreover, it has been proven that life itself is actually encoded with a stupendous amount of information written out in a clearly understandable language.  Needless to say, information and language are not the byproducts of chance collisions, random chemical reactions or other godless evolutionary mechanisms.

These are just a few examples that can be cited.  Yet, in response, the atheistic evolutionary scientists have done everything possible to suppress this evidence and marginalize the scientists who promote or affirm it.  In his brilliant documentary “Expelled,” Ben Stein shows how atheistic evolutionary scientists are blacklisting anyone who challenges or even questions the Darwinian model.

As the Climategate scandal and these other examples show, anyone who worships at the altar of science is worshiping at the feet of a false god manufactured by fallen men with sinful hearts and propped up by suppression, intimidation, and outright lies.
